Dr. Kevin Chapman, Chief Psychology Officer

Kevin is a licensed clinical psychologist in Louisville, Kentucky, and considered a star in the field of sports performance and mental skills enhancement. Leading a team of performance psychology experts, Dr. Chapman’s goal is to teach an athlete to embrace the mental skills necessary for performing well in sports as well as in non-sport performance situations. Dr. Chapman was an accomplished two-sport athlete at Centre College in Kentucky where he was an all-conference performer in both football and track and field. Dr. Chapman was an eight-time conference champion in track and field and named to the All-Anniversary team in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for his performances in the 200 meters.

Dr. Chapman is the official pyschologist for Louisville City FC - back-to-back United Soccer League Champions! Before going in to private practice and founding Lifesport, he was a psychologist for the University of Louisville Athletic Department Sports Performance Team where he assisted both individuals and teams in performance enhancement through teaching mental toughness, enhancing self-talk, mental imagery, and other sports performance skills.

Dr. Chapman regularly assists athletes of all ages who have become State Champions, All-Americans, Olympians, Pan American Champions, Junior Olympians, and professional athletes.

Dr. Chapman is recognized as an "approved mentor" by the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). More informaton about the AASP can be found here.


Dr. Tony Zipple, SC.D., MBA, Mental Performance Coach

Equipped with an MBA, Tony brings deep and varied experience as a behavioral health executive, clinician, consultant and academic researcher. He is also a certified professional coach with experience in organizational development, leadership development and performance improvement. Tony is our "go-to" specialist in helping athletes mentally recover from injury and re-gaining confidence post-injury.


Cheryl Rode, CPC, ELI-MP, Certified Professional Coach, Mental Toughness Trainer

As a Certified Mental Toughness Trainer, Cheryl helps athletes shift thoughts, clear mental blocks, master emotions, become better leaders and increase energy for peak performance. Her passion for helping people using her natural curiosity, life experiences and strong intuition are just a few reasons why clients of all ages love working with her. She gained knowledge and experience playing sports in school and uses Mental Toughness in her own life as a successful business owner of 17 years and proud mother of an 18-year-old son.

Cheryl has a particularly unique perspective on coaching because her son will be playing Division I basketball this fall. For this reason, she really enjoys helping parents as well. Her coaching is based on the formula, PERFORMANCE = POTENTIAL - INTERFERENCE. She helps clients INCREASE their POTENTIAL and ELIMINATE the INTERFERENCES holding them back. As a Certified Professional Coach and Mental Toughness Trainer, she is ready to help you reach peak performance in your sport and life as the coaching you receive carries over into academics, relationships, communication and a successful mindset for life. Cheryl sees clients in-person or via Zoom/Skype/Facetime or by phone.


Dr. Christopher G. Block, PhD, Licensed Psychological Practitioner

Chris is a Licensed Psychological Practitioner who received his doctoral training in Counseling Psychology from the University of Louisville. He also has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Spalding University. Clinically, Chris utilizes evidence-based cognitive-behavioral strategies to help clients learn to manage their anxiety and improve their mood. Chris’s personal lifetime passion for physical fitness, coupled with his vast clinical experience lends to his success in helping athletes and others overcome their anxiety and improve performance. Along with his role at Lifesport, Chris provides cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy and assessment services for the Saint Luke Center in Louisville.


Dr. Lynn Supple, PsyD, Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Lynn Supple specializes in working with elite athletes to achieve optimal performance. As a former Division I Cross Country and Track & Field runner at Indiana University, Dr. Supple understands the unique demands of a high-performing athletic environment. Dr. Supple knows peak performance is achieved through a healthy, focused mind and body. She often finds that an unbalanced mind or body can be the biggest obstacle to desired results, both in and out of the athletic world. Dr. Supple helps to remove mental obstacles (i.e. performance anxiety) so an athlete can thrive in his or her athletic environment. Dr. Supple can also help overcome physical obstacles through her specialization in disordered eating/eating disorders among athletes. She works within a team approach that includes the athlete, coaches, and medical professionals (if necessary).


John Beran, CPA, MBA, Chief Executive Officer

A former hospital system Chief Financial Officer, John has CEO, CFO and COO experience in companies ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollar organizations. He is highly adept at interfacing with corporate partners for strategic partnering opportunities.


John Vigeland, V.P., Chief Communications Officer

Along with a 15-year career in journalism as a television reporter and anchorman, John has added 20 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing and public relations.

From West Chester, Ohio, Ciara was a senior at Bellarmine University in Louisville (NCAA Division II) majoring in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a Minor in Sports Studies. Ciara was on the Bellarmine Women's Softball team and is a two-time NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-America Scholar-Athlete and a three-time Academic All-GLVC (Great Lakes Valley Conference recipient).
